About Tri Peak Athlete
Tri Peak Athlete is Hector L. Torres’s Orlando-based triathlon coaching practice for age-group triathletes — people balancing training with work, family, and a limited amount of recovery time. Hector is a physiologist and USA Triathlon Level III Coach with two master’s degrees, and that background shapes how coaching works here: real physiology, real data, and a plan built around the person doing the work.
How it started
Hector founded the Central Florida Tri Club in 2005 to give local triathletes a place to train together with structure and accountability. Two years later, in 2007, he launched Tri Peak Athlete to bring that same approach to individual coaching — connecting endurance training, strength work, and intentional recovery into one plan, rather than treating each piece separately.
What we do
Coaching starts with understanding you: your training history, your schedule, your recovery, and what you’re actually trying to accomplish. From there, we build a plan around swimming, cycling, running, strength, and recovery, and we use testing and performance data to guide decisions — not to replace the conversation about how you’re actually responding.
Athletes working with Tri Peak Athlete also get community. Group training sessions, regular events, and a Women’s Development Program for athletes ages 40 to 60 run alongside the one-on-one coaching relationship, so you’re never training in isolation if you don’t want to be.
The physiology behind the coaching
Hector’s work doesn’t stop at the finish line. As a physiologist, he also works with physical therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers, and performance practices as U.S. Business Development Manager for Winback USA — helping practitioners understand how recovery technology fits into real patient and athlete care. That’s not a separate business bolted onto coaching; it’s the same underlying expertise, applied on both sides of the training-and-recovery relationship. It’s part of why the plans built here are grounded in physiology first, not just workout volume.
Our approach
Every athlete brings a different history, schedule, and reason for competing, so the plan has to start with that athlete, not a template. We test and observe before we prescribe, we treat recovery as part of training rather than an afterthought, and we explain the reasoning behind the plan so you understand the decisions, not just the workouts.
Ready to start?
Athletes: if you’re ready to talk about your training, schedule a coaching consultation. We’ll talk through your goals, your schedule, and what kind of support makes sense before recommending anything.
Practices and practitioners: if you’re exploring how recovery technology or performance education could fit your practice, schedule a conversation or visit Healthcare Business Development & Professional Education to see how Hector works with clinics and performance teams.
