🚴‍♂️ Saturday Morning Century Ride – Downtown YMCA

Start Your Weekend With Strength, Endurance, and Community

Are you ready to challenge yourself with one of the most rewarding group rides in Central Florida? Join us this Saturday morning at 5:30 AM at the Downtown YMCA for our Century Ride (100 miles). This is more than just a bike ride — it’s an opportunity to train with purpose, push your limits, and fuel your passion for triathlon and cycling.

Ride Details

  • Start Location: Downtown YMCA

  • Start Time: 5:30 AM (arrive early to roll on time)

  • Distance: 100 Miles (Century Ride)

  • Pace: 18–20 miles per hour

  • Stops: Every 25 miles for hydration, nutrition, and regrouping

  • Terrain: Road + trail sections for a mix of speed and scenery

This ride is structured to prepare athletes for long-course triathlons, including Ironman 70.3 and Ironman 140.6, while also welcoming serious cyclists who want to log meaningful miles with a supportive group.

Why Join the Century Ride?

1. Build Endurance Like a Pro

Long rides are the backbone of triathlon and cycling training. By riding 100 miles at a steady pace, you’ll boost your aerobic capacity, leg strength, and ability to sustain high performance over long distances.

2. Perfect Pace for Racing

Our ride maintains an 18–20 mph average pace, simulating realistic Ironman race conditions. Riding in a group at this speed helps you practice drafting etiquette, pacing strategy, and energy conservation.

3. Nutrition & Hydration Practice

Nutrition is often called the fourth discipline of triathlon. This ride provides the perfect opportunity to test your fueling plan, from gels and bars to electrolyte mixes. With stops every 25 miles, you’ll learn how to stay fueled and hydrated for endurance success.

4. Train With a Community

There’s power in training together. Group rides not only make the miles fly by but also keep you accountable, motivated, and safe.

5. Trail + Road Combo

A portion of the ride will be on scenic trails — giving you a change of pace, smoother terrain, and safer riding conditions.

Tips for Success

  • Arrive early: Be ready to roll promptly at 5:30 AM.

  • Bring lights: Early morning starts require front and rear bike lights.

  • Pack your nutrition: Aim for 60–90g of carbs per hour (gels, chews, or bars).

  • Stay hydrated: Bring at least 2 bottles per 25 miles. Refill at stops.

  • Check your gear: Make sure your bike is tuned, tires inflated, and drivetrain clean.

Who Should Join?

This ride is best suited for intermediate to advanced cyclists and triathletes comfortable holding 18–20 mph for extended distances. Whether you’re training for Ironman Florida, Challenge Miami, or just looking to complete your first century, this ride will help you reach the next level.

Join the Ride – Push Your Limits!

If you’ve been searching for a group ride that challenges, motivates, and prepares you for race day, this is it. Don’t miss the opportunity to build endurance, connect with fellow athletes, and enjoy the satisfaction of completing 100 miles.
