Break your plateau!

Break your plateau!

Many athletes assume that to get faster and stronger they need to train harder and longer. We understand the  of building endurance; however, we know that we can do the distance, but we want to get faster. Let’s take a different approach as we only have so many hours in the day… let’s train shorter and smarter. Classic V02 max workouts with repeats lasting three to five minutes should remain triathletes first priority, along with tempo runs and mileage. But when you’re ready to break the barrier,  don’t focus only on pushing toward longer workouts. Short sprints of should do it. However, they are many different ways on incorporating this after a tempo or long workout.

Swim:

  • 12 x 50 Free as 25 sprint/25 easy with 15 – 20 sec recovery

Bike:

  • 8 x 30 sec sprints at 150% of FTP with 90 sec recovery

Run:

  • 6 x 150 meters with 90 sec recovery

We will see it this week during training.
