Winback Triathlon Pilot Selection Process Has Begun
The recruitment period for the Winback Triathlon Performance & Recovery Pilot has officially moved into the next phase.
We want to thank every athlete who took the time to apply and express interest in being part of this initiative.
The response has been encouraging, and we are now beginning the process of reviewing applications and identifying the athletes who may best fit within Phase I of the program.
What Happens Next?
Over the next several days, our team will begin reaching out directly to applicants.
This is not simply about selecting the fastest athletes.
We want to learn more about each person, including:
- Training background
- Race experience
- Current goals
- Current training load
- Availability
- Injury history or current limitations
- Garmin and TrainingPeaks readiness
- Commitment to testing and data collection
- Overall fit within the first phase of the pilot
The goal is to select approximately 10–15 athletes who can consistently participate in the training, monitoring, testing, and recovery components of the program.
Building the Right First Cohort
Phase I is being developed as a structured and standardized pilot.
The intent is to create a repeatable system that brings together:
Tri Peak Athlete
Structured endurance coaching, TrainingPeaks programming, and athlete development
Winback
Recovery and performance technology integrated into the athlete journey
Kinvent
Objective performance and functional testing during designated testing periods
The first cohort will play an important role in helping us understand how this model can operate in a real-world endurance training environment.
A Thoughtful Selection Process
We are taking the time to review each athlete individually because the success of this first phase depends on more than athletic ability alone.
Consistency, communication, willingness to follow the program, technology compliance, testing availability, and openness to structured monitoring are all important factors.
For everyone who applied:
Please keep an eye on your phone and email.
We will begin reaching out to athletes over the next few days to learn more about your goals and determine how you may fit within the first phase of the program.
What We Are Building
The broader vision is to create a model that connects:
Training Load → Recovery → Readiness → Next Training Demand → Training Completion
The pilot is being designed around a standardized approach to athlete monitoring rather than making unsupported claims about any single technology or intervention.
Our focus is on understanding the athlete journey, improving consistency in how data are collected, and building a process that can be repeated and evaluated.
Thank You to Every Athlete Who Applied
Whether you are ultimately selected for this first group or not, we sincerely appreciate your interest in being part of this project.
This initiative starts with athletes who are curious, committed, and willing to participate in something that may help shape future performance and recovery programs.
The selection process has begun.
And we are excited to get to know the athletes behind the applications.
Train Smarter. Recover Better. Perform Stronger.
Follow the progress of the Winback Triathlon Performance & Recovery Pilot as we move from athlete selection into onboarding, baseline testing, and Phase I implementation.
