Get Faster on the Bike with HIIT Workouts – Cyclists

HIIT Workouts for Cyclist

As a cyclist, you know that interval training is an important part of your regimen. But sometimes it can be tough to fit those workouts in, especially when you’re short on time. That’s where these high-intensity interval training workouts for cyclists come in! These routines are designed to help you improve your functional threshold and get faster on the bike. Plus, they only require 30 minutes or less of your time!

The first routine is a Tabata-style workout. This is an intense interval protocol that involves 8 rounds of 20 seconds of maximum effort, followed by 10 seconds of rest. You can perform this workout on any bike or trainer and it will help you build power and speed quickly. To make the most out of your Tabata workout, focus on pushing as hard as you can during the work intervals and then recovering completely during the rest periods.

Another great high-intensity interval training routine for cyclists is a ladder workout. For this one, you’ll start with 30 seconds at maximum effort, followed by 45 seconds at a moderate pace. Then increase the intensity in 15 second increments until you reach 2 minutes at maximum effort. From there, you’ll drop back down in 15 second increments until you finish with 30 seconds at maximum effort. This workout will help you build up your anaerobic capacity and improve your ability to handle high-intensity efforts.

Finally, a good way to get faster is with intervals at or above your functional threshold. This type of workout is great for building up your endurance and pushing your body’s limits. Start with 4 minutes at just below your functional threshold, followed by 3 minutes at maximum effort. Repeat this pattern for 10-15 rounds and then cool down for 5 minutes. Perfecting this type of workout will help you become more efficient on the bike and increase your overall speed.

With these high-intensity interval training workouts for cyclists, you can improve your performance and become faster on the bike! No matter what type of bike or trainer you use, these high-intensity interval training workouts for cyclists can help you get faster and stronger on the bike in no time! Try a few of them out and see for yourself how effective they can be.

So give them a try today and see how they can help you reach new levels of fitness!

Good luck and happy riding!
