Hector Torres to Join USA Triathlon Delegation at World Triathlon Congress

Hector L. Torres, MS, MHS, will join the USA Triathlon delegation at the 2026 World Triathlon Congress in Spain. The Orlando-based coach, founder of Central Florida Tri Club, and owner of Tri Peak Athlete brings more than two decades of experience in athlete development, community building, and business coaching.

Representing USA Triathlon in Spain

Torres will travel to Spain September 22–28, participating in the World Triathlon Congress on September 23 and the Americas Triathlon Congress on September 26. Meetings will take place at Hotel Carlos I Silgar in Sanxenxo, in the province of Pontevedra.

His focus includes contributing to triathlon development conversations involving the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He brings practical experience helping people enter the sport, supporting coaches, and building a community that keeps athletes involved.

For Torres, this is an opportunity to share lessons from Central Florida while learning how other communities approach participation and athlete development. His goal is to bring back ideas that local clubs and coaches can put into practice.

Two Decades of Coaching and Community Leadership

A USA Triathlon Level III Coach, Torres founded Central Florida Tri Club in 2005 and Tri Peak Athlete in 2007.

His background includes two decades of volunteer leadership with USA Triathlon’s Florida and Southeast Region, service as a regional Paratriathlon Coordinator, and his role as head coach of Special Olympics WITS.

Torres holds master’s degrees in Sport & Fitness and Health Science. His foundation in exercise physiology informs his approach to training, recovery, and helping athletes progress through the demands of their sport.

Through Tri Peak Athlete, he provides individualized endurance coaching and works with athletes to develop training plans that fit their goals and daily lives.

Helping Practitioners Grow Their Businesses with Winback

Torres also serves as U.S. and Puerto Rico Business Development Manager for Winback USA, where he helps healthcare practitioners introduce Winback technology into their practices through education, hands-on training, and business support.

His work as a business coach includes helping practitioners strengthen their brands, identify their target markets, and develop marketing strategies around the services they provide with Winback.

That support extends to planning open houses, developing referral relationships, and training teams to explain their services clearly to patients and clients. He helps practitioners connect their investment in technology with a practical plan for reaching the people they want to serve.

Through Tri Peak Athlete’s business coaching and professional education services, Torres also works with coaches and practice owners on positioning, community partnerships, and implementation.

The work starts with understanding the business: who it serves, what it wants to accomplish, and where it needs support.

Bringing the Experience Back to the Community

Torres brings that same approach to triathlon development. Building a club or expanding a practice requires understanding people’s needs and creating opportunities they can access and sustain.

At the World Triathlon Congress, he will draw on his experience as a coach and business development professional while listening to the perspectives of other delegates.

Alongside his congress commitments, Torres has agreed to help lead Team USA runs during the week. It is another opportunity to stay connected with athletes while supporting USA Triathlon’s activities in Spain.
