Inside the Nexus Recovery Open House: Testing, Treating and Retesting With Winback BACK4
September 18, 2026 | South Florida
Today was a great day at Nexus Recovery.
We hosted a Winback Open House focused on something I believe needs to become a bigger part of the recovery and performance conversation:
Don’t just treat. Measure.
Throughout the event, we combined the Winback BACK4 with objective Kinvent K-Pull testing to look at what was happening before a session, immediately afterward, and how those changes could help guide future care.
This wasn’t about trying to prove that one treatment magically fixes everything.
It was about creating a better process.
TEST. TREAT. RETEST.
WHY THIS OPEN HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT
When someone receives a recovery or rehabilitation treatment, the conversation often ends with:
“How do you feel?”
That matters.
But I also want to know:
- What did we measure before the session?
- Was there an asymmetry?
- Was pain affecting movement or force production?
- What intervention was used?
- What changed afterward?
- And does that change continue over time?
That is why we incorporated Kinvent testing alongside Winback during the Nexus Recovery Open House.
The goal was to move beyond the treatment experience alone and start creating a more objective conversation around recovery, movement, and performance.
SHOULDER CASE: WHAT CHANGED?
One participant completed a standardized Kinvent K-Pull assessment of shoulder external rotation before and immediately after a 20-minute Winback BACK4 session.
The most interesting finding was not an increase in maximal strength.
It was the change in symmetry, pain response, and speed of force production.
Peak-force asymmetry changed from 17.8% before the session to 5.2% immediately afterward.
Average time to peak force shortened from 3.54 seconds to 2.03 seconds.
The participant also reported pain during the baseline test and no pain during the immediate retest.
There was another important finding: bilateral mean peak force was approximately 22% lower during the immediate post-test.
And that number matters too.
We cannot only report the numbers that look favorable. A lower post-session peak-force result could reflect fatigue, changes in motor strategy, effort, normal testing variability, or other factors that cannot be determined from a single session.
That is why we measure.
And that is why we follow up.
HIP EXTENSION CASE: LOOKING AT ASYMMETRY
We also evaluated a runner and CrossFit athlete who presented with low-back symptoms and a noticeable difference in hip-extension force between sides.
Before the session:
Left hip extension: 14.67 kg
Right hip extension: 18.27 kg
Left-to-right asymmetry: 19.3%
Immediately following the session and active loading:
Left hip extension: 17.05 kg
Right hip extension: 16.73 kg
Left-to-right asymmetry: 3.1%
Left-side average peak force increased approximately 16% during the immediate post-session assessment.
Again, this is a single-session observation.
It is not proof of a long-term treatment effect.
The real value comes from repeating the testing and asking:
Does the change hold?
Does movement continue to improve?
Does the athlete tolerate training better?
Do symptoms continue to change?
That is the conversation I want us to have.
WHY THIS MATTERS FOR RECOVERY AND REHABILITATION PRACTICES

This is where I believe the Winback BACK4 becomes much more than another modality inside a treatment room.
The workflow becomes:
ASSESS → TREAT → MOVE → RETEST → PROGRESS
BACK4 combines TECAR therapy with Hi-TENS and Hi-EMS, giving practitioners multiple options to integrate treatment with movement, rehabilitation, recovery, and performance.
When we pair that technology with objective testing, we have more information to guide the next decision.
For me, that is the bigger opportunity.
Not simply adding another piece of equipment.
Building a measurable treatment and performance workflow around it.
A GREAT DAY AT NEXUS RECOVERY
The Open House gave people an opportunity to experience Winback, ask questions, see the BACK4 being used in real-world applications, and watch objective testing take place around the sessions.
And that is exactly what these events should be about.
Education.
Experience.
Measurement.
Conversation.
Implementation.
A huge thank you to the Nexus Recovery team and everyone who came out, participated, asked questions, and experienced the technology.
It was a great success.
But this is only the beginning.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR NEXUS RECOVERY?
Stay tuned.
Nexus Recovery is continuing its development toward becoming one of our Winback Key Hub Centers in South Florida.
That means we are working toward building something bigger around:
- Winback education and training
- Objective testing
- Recovery and performance
- Practitioner collaboration
- Case documentation
- Community events
- Clinical and performance programs
The goal is not simply to have a BACK4 sitting inside a clinic.
The goal is to create an environment where practitioners and clients can better understand how recovery, movement, and performance can be assessed, treated, measured, and progressed.
Want to See What We’re Building Next?
The Nexus Recovery Open House was one day, but the bigger goal is just getting started.
As Nexus Recovery continues developing into a Winback Key Hub Center in South Florida, I’ll be sharing more real-world applications, objective testing, practitioner education, case observations, and ways we’re integrating the Winback BACK4 into recovery, rehabilitation, and performance.
If you’re a physical therapist, chiropractor, athletic trainer, performance professional, recovery center, or practice owner and you’ve been wondering where Winback could fit into what you’re already doing, follow along.
I’m going to continue showing the process — not just the technology.
See the testing. See the treatment. See the retesting. See how practices are actually implementing it.
And if you’d like to experience the BACK4, talk through your practice, or learn about an upcoming Winback event:
Connect with me and let’s have the conversation.
